Kindergarten Time!

Well, I cant believe it! Michayla went to school this week! She kinda liked it:) We'll give it a couple weeks before we decide for sure if its really worth the time:) My problem is that my options are limited, since we cant afford private school, and since I'm going to school I dont have the time I would like to home school. But we'll just wait and see if things get better. I'm sure the first days are always a little wierd. Its crazy though to think that now our lives revolve around the her school schedule, and not our own....for not just a little while.....but until we're 50!!! AHHHHHH!

Our New Addition

Surprize, Surprize! We are now a Dog family:) This is Sarah. She came with that name, which just happens to be Michaylas favorite name. She was heart broken when we didnt name Allyson Sarah! Anyway, She is 5 yrs old and a very good dog. The only problem is we are an outside dog family, so getting used to an inside dog has been kinda difficult. The kids love it! The daddy, not so much. But we are making room for her in our home and in our hearts, and it is definatley an experience I wouldnt trade.

Allyson LOVES Sarah. She rides her and hugs her all the time. Sarah has been extremely good with the kids. I love that about her.

Chicago-Shedd Aquarium

In Chicago we went to Shedd aquarium, one of the biggest aquariums in the U.S. It was awesome. This is the kids standing by the Balooga Whale tank. They were big white whales, and there was a baby whale there only 2 days old. He was swimming around with his mama.

Umm...not sure what the kids were doing, but this is when we were at the dolphin show. Out the back is lake Michigan. It was hug! Like the ocean. AMAZING.

Can you see the fish? Its the big yellow blob in the middle.

This is the shark tank. We sat and watched the sharks and sea turtles for quite a while. This was Blakes favorite part:)

Heres another crazy one for ya. Man, I think whoever made up this species has a very impressive imagination.

Bowling Bonanza

The summer reading program here was awesome! For their first prize they gave out McDonalds ice cream cones and free bowling! So, we took the kids for their first bowling experience here in Topeka, and they loved it. Blaked did really well! But my personal favorite thing of the night was his choice of socks for the occassion.

The kids were doing a bowling dance that the natives do here in Kansas. It was for good luck.

What a great team they make! Go Blakester Go!

Family Road Trip

This summer we went on a family road trip. By family I mean Brents brothers and sister and all the kids. What did we drive in? ONE BIG 15 passenger van:) Brents mom, Jodi Flake and younger brothers Travis and Jeff and sister Natalie started in AZ and drove to Kansas and picked up our family. Then, we drove to Nauvoo IL and saw the outdoor pageant and homes there. THEN, we drove to Chicago and went to Shedd Aquarium and the others went to "WICKED." In Chicago we picked up Jeremy and his wife Kendra, and Troy. THEN, we drove to Michigan and picked up Julie and Hunter. They took there van at this point (since we had 12 in our van already plus luggage) and we went through Canada (Niagra Falls) to Palmyra NY. We camped here for 5 nights. It was a great time. We then went to Kirtland OH for 3 days, and then back home to Kansas. It was one amazing family vacation. What more can I say?
